It was not really that long ago that hippies and tree huggers were the only ones to show concern concerning the well-being of the surroundings. Those days are over, and it appears we all recognize our role in stopping and possibly reversing the damage being done to our planet. Unless everyone begins to start living much more green we won’t be able to correct the problems of the environment. Each and every family must start generating changes that are environmentally friendly and they should do this soon. Read on for some approaches to go green and save energy, mainly in the kitchen.
A massive amount of electricity is actually consumed by freezers and refrigerators, and it’s even worse if they are working inefficiently. In case you can get a new one, they use about 60% less than the old models that are more than ten years old. The correct temperature settings for your fridge and freezer, whereby you’ll be saving energy and optimising the preservation of food, is 37F and 0F. Checking that the condenser is definitely clean, which means that the motor needs to operate less regularly, will also save electricity.
From the above it should be obvious that just in the kitchen, by itself, there are lots of little opportunities for saving energy and money. It is pretty straightforward to live green, of course. Typically, all it requires is a bit of common sense.

Remove the middle section of the blender top so steam can escape (you may want to have a hand towel to hover over that area while blending to minimize any mess). Start on low and quickly work your way to purée setting for the soup. Pour into a clean bowl and repeat until all soup is puréed.
